The municipality is launching the campaign with the aim of raising awareness among school-age children, young people and local communities against social evils and harmful practices prevalent in society.

The drama focuses particularly on child marriage, drug abuse, cybercrimes and other social problems that have negatively affected the people and held back development.

Combining information, entertainment and awareness, the production is expected to play a significant role in bringing about positive social change.

According to Taradevi Sunuwar, head of the Women, Children and Social Welfare Section of Namobuddha Municipality, the drama will be performed at two schools within the municipality on June 25-26.

On June 25, it will be staged at 1:00 pm on the premises of Janak Secondary School, Bhakundebesi, and Ward – 4 of Namobuddha Municipality.

On June 26, it will be staged at 1:00 pm on the premises of Krishna Secondary School, Dapcha, Ward- 9.

Sunuwar has also extended a cordial invitation to students, teachers, parents and local intellectuals to attend the performances and contribute to the success of the awareness campaign.

Presented by Aadityaadi, the drama has been written and directed by theatre artist and director Puru Lamsal.

The cast includes veteran actor Prabhakardev Sharma, Kamalmani Nepal, widely known for his popular character ‘Khupika Bau’, Anamika Lamichhane, known for her role as ‘Gauri’, as well as Sagar Karki, Sewita Adhikari, Rupesh Mandal and Anju Khadka.
